Since 1986 Ian Goldsmid has been a key player in the founding and building of several Software and Consulting companies across Europe, North America and Australasia. For example, Constellar Corporation from 1991 - 1998. We founded Constellar in London, England, initially providing technical consulting services to the fast growing Oracle database systems, large corporate customer base. Then In 1994, along with his co-founder colleague Brian Donnelly we transformed this fast growing 50 person consulting company into one of the first three companies in the world producing commercial software products for the rapidly growing Enterprise Data Integration market - now known by various acronyms such as ETL, EAI, EII - the prerequisite for Business Intelligence, Master/Customer Data Management, and Data Warehouse systems. Constellar Corporation was funded with $30 million by several Silicon Valley Venture Capital Companies during 1996-7 - relocated to Redwood Shores in Silicon Valley, gained several hundred top tier corporate customers globally  - and was subsequently sold to IBM.


More recently, 2002-2008, Ian was a co-founder and chief sales and marketing rainmaker of Semantic Discovery Systems - a software product aimed at mid to large scale enterprises - basically the next generation of enterprise data integration and business intelligence systems using the amazing new W3C Semantic Web standards that will eventually enable (non technical) business users to directly query, produce reports from, and perform novel discovery across disparate corporate and external data sources without the continual requirement for IT Support - minimizing expensive IT dependent ETL, EAI, EII - and vastly reducing the need for Data Warehouse silos.


In addition, during the past 25 years, Ian has hired hundreds of top tier sales people, senior management and executives for computer systems, and enterprise software clients in England and Silicon Valley California.


Overall Ian has a top notch understanding of what it takes to market and sell mid-large scale complex software - and is particularly respected for his ability to determine and commit to the right market niches, formulate the right value propositions, and deliver continuous sales ready prospects.
